Counselling

Counsellors help people with mental, emotional, and physical health issues to improve their sense of well‐being. Counselling methods and relationships will vary among counsellors but the shared intention is to work with clients in a manner that respects the client’s beliefs, values, and boundaries. Counsellors work with individuals, couples, and groups.

People reach out for counselling services for a variety of reasons. Sometimes people come in for a specific issue while others are not entirely sure except they know something does not feel right. Counsellors are skilled in holding space for people who seek a safe environment to express their concerns. Counsellors are skilled at assisting clients with mental and emotional health concerns, addiction, trauma, life changes, personal development, as well as many other issues.

Counselling yields a variety of positive benefits which can enhance a person’s overall well being and quality of life. Exploring thoughts and feelings with a counsellor can help clients build self-awareness, self-confidence, and connection. Some other benefits of counselling include improved relationships, stress and anxiety reduction, emotional balance, trauma resolution, and clarity of mind. Counselling is a collaborative relationship which aims to empower clients and help them move forward.
